I know girls love beautiful manicured salon like nails, but I also know that , not many of you get the time or opportunity to get your nails done or manicured from a salon. So I thought to , share with you lovelies, some very easy and basic steps to get beautiful manicured nails at your home.
Remove that nail paint
Yes , start of with removing your nail paint (ofcourse if you are wearing any). Now you can use any nail paint remover of your choice. As for me, I have been using “Lakme Nail Color Remover with Vitamin E” for quite a some time now.
Cut & File your nails
After removing your nail paint, if you think of cutting your nails, then do cut them , then file your nails. But make sure while file in one direction only. If you file your nails back and forth , it can result in breakage of your nails.
Apply Nail Creme or Oil
After you are done cutting and filing your nails , apply any nail creme or oil as per your choice. Some of you might be thinking that did forget about applying cuticle oil. No, I did not forget about, actually I do not apply cuticle oil myself. And since I am sharing the steps that I follow myself to get salon like nails at home, so I did not write about applying cuticle oil. Ok , so talking about nail creme, I apply “Nykaa Hand and Nail Creme”. The type / variant I’m currently using is “French Lavender & Honey” .
Wash away Nail Creme/Oil
Now that you are done applying your nail creme or oil , wash away excess oil or creme from your nails. I suggest wash off excess oil / creme from your nails with soap water and then soak your nails ,in lukewarm water with lemon mixed in it, for few minutes and then completely dry them.
Apply Base Coat
I know many of you skip this part while doing their nails, thinking this step is not of much importance. But no , this is actually a very important step. Applying base coat ,ensures that your nail paint stays for a longer period of time. And it also prevents staining of your nails caused by dark nail paints.
Apply Nail Paint
Now apply your favourite nail paint , starting from the base to the tip. One thing to remember , that don’t apply one thick coat of nail paint. Rather apply thin coats of nail paint 2 to 3 times or as per your requirement.
Apply Top Coat
You are not done with just applying your base coat and nail paint. Your manicure is never complete without applying the top coat. It seals the nail paint and prevents water loss which in turn results in less breakage of your nails. It also offers a hard, long-lasting protective shell.
