YOU ARE, WHAT YOU FEED YOUR MIND !

Hello my lazygirlfam ! I hope you lovelies are doing well. You might be thinking, long time no see, right ?! But anywho, now that I am back, lets quickly get into our today’s topic. So, you might be wondering that, what do I mean exactly by “feeding your mind”, right ?!

Now, come on , you don’t need to stress over this, much…because everything would become crystal clear, as you keep on reading my blog. So, lets start off with what “Feeding your Mind” is. It simply means, whatever your mind is having and feeding on. Still confused ? Okay, so let’s dive a bit more deeper.

As you need to feed your body with healthy food and drinks in order to have a healthy and fit body, so is the case with your mind, too. You need to intentionally, “feed your mind with healthy food to have a healthy life”. So, you might be thinking what these healthy food for your mind exactly is, right ?

All throughout the day, you intentionally or unintentionally feed your mind with lots of healthy and unhealthy food. All the thoughts that you think, the shows that you watch, the books you read are all the food that you feed your mind with. As you need to have healthy food, like green vegetables, fruits and health drinks, to have a healthy, fit and beautiful body.

Likewise, you need to feed your mind with healthy food too, to have a healthy and positive life. Because afterall, how your life is, it all depends on your mind. We all want to have a life filled with positivity, peace & happiness. But how many of you really work on getting that life.

You might be defending yourself right now, saying that you’re indeed working on getting a healthy life. But let me ask you again, are you really working on that ? Because, let me tell you, getting good marks, buying that new dress, having that good dish or having enough money doesn’t mean you’re going to have a healthy, happy and positive life. And if I am not wrong, then all that, you’re working on right now, is for getting all of these, aren’t you ?

What makes your life a happy life is not all these materialistic things but your own thoughts. Or I should rather say, that how your life is or it would be, depends on how your mind is. Is it full of positivity & gratitude or it is full of negative emotions & thoughts.

It is still a bit easier to have a healthy diet for your body but having a healthy mind can be a little bit tricky.

What do you think ?

I would say, no it is not that hard a task to achieve or to have a healthy mind. You just need to, keep track of whatever you’re feeding your mind with and then, intentionally feed your mind all the healthy food and filter out all the unhealthy food.

But how do you know what is healthy & what is unhealthy for your mind, right ?

It is not that difficult to distinguish between the healthy & unhealthy food for your mind, you know !

Lets take an example..

We all watch Televison, right ?! Atleast most of us do. So, when you watch a tv show, notice how it affects your thoughts, does it make your thoughts positive or does it make your thoughts negative. Observing is the first step in knowing, what you’re feeding your mind. Like, if you’re watching an intense and sad movie, how would you feel then ? Or if you’re watching a comedy show, how would you feel then ? Are both of these feelings same or different ?

Observing is the first step, in knowing what you’re feeding your mind.

Once you’re successful in observing and knowing, what affects your mind in a positive way and what affects your mind in a negative way, you’re already halfway there, in feeding your mind, with the right food.

Now, the question is..

What are the right food for your mind ?

Everything that makes your mind filled up with POSITIVITY, HOPE, LOVE & GOODNESS is the right food for your mind.

And, here are some of the ways you can feed your mind with the right food…

  • Listening to Affirmations

This is a great way to fill up your mind with positive thoughts and intentions and to keep your negative thoughts at bay. And this is something that I would claim as my “Daily Food for Mind”. If you’re interested in changing your life for the good and if you’re someone, who is eager to feed your mind with good food then do listen to affirmations. And I am telling you, they would change your life and that too, for the good.

  • Journalling

Now comes up another very important food for your mind, i.e. Journalling. Journalling basically means writing down your thoughts or wishes or maybe your long term or short term goals on a piece of paper or anywhere you like writing. But why is it so important , you might think this. The reason for this is, writing down your thoughts ( Positive thoughts ofcourse ! ) , or wishes or goals, would trick your subconsious mind in believing them. And then, your subconsious mind, would in turn, work for making all of those beliefs or wishes into your reality.

  • Reading Self-Help Books

Reading books are already very good as it helps to increase or strengthen our imagination power. But, not all books are good for your mind. Now, I am not telling you to stop reading story books but I am telling you to start reading self-help books too. They almost work in a similar manner as affirmations do. And honestly, I would ask you to stay away from books that make you feel negative or fill your mind with negative intentions, thoughts or emotions. Do this and I know, you’re going to thank me later.

  • Spending time with the right people

Yes, this indeed is very important too. People or other persons except you, also have the power to feed your mind. Thinking how ? They feed your mind with their words & opinions. You need to choose the right persons in your life, who feed your mind with encouragement, motivation, love and joy. Because at times even if you’re feeding your mind with all the right food but if you’re not with the right people then all your work will go in vain.

Remember…

As our Mom always tells us that if we don’t feed our body today, with healthy food, we would suffer in future, so is the case with our Mind.

Feed your Mind today, with healthy food to have a healthy and positive life in Future.

And if you do this, your future self will thank you later…
